Dr. Said is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon with Summit Medical Group. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering. He earned his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York. He then completed advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Said is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), and participated in national committees. He has authored and co-authored several articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters on a range of topics in orthopedic surgery including hand surgery. He has delivered local, regional, and national presentations in his field.

Dr. Said is also one of the covering team physicians for the New Jersey Devils NHL hockey team.

Dr. Said was attracted to the field of hand surgery from his education in engineering and inspiring mentors. He enjoys the ability to treat a range of problems including fractures, peripheral nerve injuries, and tendon and muscle injuries to restore the use of hands.

He performs a wide variety of procedures including minimally-invasive carpal tunnel release surgery, Xiaflex enzyme injections, wide-awake surgery with local anesthesia, arthroscopic surgery, microsurgery, and hand, wrist, and elbow fracture repair.

“I prefer to explore conservative treatments first before considering surgery and believe the best outcomes come from a shared decision-making discussion with the patient. I consider all aspects of each patient’s profile including the history, preferences, activity level, and physical exam findings to decide on a treatment plan together. For me, the most satisfaction comes from meeting and exceeding the patient’s expectations.”

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, practicing the guitar, and golfing. Having been born and raised in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area, he is pleased to return to the area to practice.
